BEFORE YOU GO

Pack light. Soak thoughtfully.

Use the bath rules and approach to decide what to bring.

Pack for the journey and the bathing arrangement separately. A towel may be included in one admission and an extra rental at another; a private room can have different clothing rules from the shared pools next door.

Start with the ticket and the approach

Keep the reservation, permitted arrival time and official directions available. For remote visits, plan for the actual trail and communication limits. Goldmyer’s operator describes a long approach without cell service; Sloquet’s access road has industrial traffic and limited services. A poolside packing list alone does not prepare that journey.

Bring the items your ticket does not include

Check towels, robes, lockers and any required footwear before paying for extras. Ojo’s communal day admission includes a towel and locker, with robe rental separate. Belknap requires clothing and has a short soaking session. Spring City’s outdoor baths require swimwear and a cap.

  • Bathing clothing and any required cap or footwear.
  • Towel and dry clothes unless the selected product includes them.
  • Water and route-appropriate footwear for the approach.
  • A bag for wet items and everything you brought in.
  • The exact ticket, permit and any required identification.

Follow the clothing rule for the area

Jemez requires swimsuits in every pool. Ojo and Riverbend distinguish communal swimwear bathing from clothing-optional private pools. Sloquet’s custodians request bathing suits. Privacy is a booking arrangement; it is not a universal clothing policy.

Respect quiet spaces and the natural water

Ojo asks for whisper voices and a shower before bathing. Sloquet asks visitors to keep contaminants out and take rubbish away, and prohibits pets in the hot-springs area. Hot Springs Cove prohibits glass around the pools. Read the local rules rather than importing another bath’s etiquette.

Questions before you go.

Should I always bring a swimsuit?

Check the exact area. Jemez requires swimwear in all pools and Sloquet requests bathing suits. Ojo and Riverbend have different rules for communal and private water. Do not assume that a private booking or natural setting allows nude bathing.
