New Mexico hot springs: sessions and age limits

Compare the soaking arrangements at Ojo Caliente, Jemez and Riverbend. Read the individual age policies, reservation notes and pass options before choosing a venue. A private session and general pool access are different products.

Choose by the visit you can make.

Ojo Caliente, Jemez and Riverbend use different minimum ages, booking systems and session lengths. Choose the party’s eligible session before comparing the entry amounts.

Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs

Communal day soaking with separately appointed private tubs

Soaking/spa areas are 13+ and under-18s need an adult. Private pools add a separate charge to day admission.

Jemez Hot Springs

Walk-in one- or two-hour shared soaking

Ages 14+ and swimwear required. No public reservations; a full property can mean waiting for a later time.

Riverbend Hot Springs

Reserved hourly common-pool access or private sessions

Ages 12+ rather than adults-only. Reservations are required and walk-ins are not accepted; the property pass is one hour.

Use the group’s youngest age

A 12-year-old meets Riverbend’s stated minimum but not Ojo’s or Jemez’s. Older teenagers can still have accompaniment conditions. Do not use a generic family-friendly or adults-only label in place of the individual minimum.

Shared and private clothing rules differ

Ojo and Riverbend require swimwear in communal pools while private pools are clothing optional. Jemez requires swimwear in all pools. Book privacy and check the local rules as two separate decisions.
